Genesis I provides transitional housing beds in a 16-bed facility for an estimated eight girls and their babies.  Residents are homeless girls (16-18 years of age) who are pregnant or custodial parents and their children.  The mother must be eligible for financial assistance from FIA and legally free to enter the program.   Each resident must agree to work on completing her high school or G.E.D. degree for as long as she remains in residence.  Teen moms and their children may live up to two years in the residence.  The service also provides  two year follow-up assistance to prevent the return to homelessness.   Contact the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries at 150 Stimson, Detroit 48231-2097, (313) 993-4700 for more information on DRMM programs.

The Mission serves homeless and addicted men, neighborhood residents (including homeless people).  The Mission  also provides transitional housing for men.   Referrals are accepted from social service agencies, the police, churches and the homeless hotlines.  This 30 day residential substance abuse treatment program houses 28 men.  Services include individual counseling sessions, didactics, support group actitivies and work therapy.  Service options include licensed and CARF certified substance abuse programs.  Contact the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries at 150 Stimson, Detroit 48231-2097, (313) 993-4700 for more information on DRMM programs.
